The Calgary Hitmen captain is headed out west.
On the afternoon of the 2025 WHL Bantam draft, the Hitmen dealt '06-born forward Carson Wetsch to the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for a small boatload of pieces.

Wetsch was paired with a second round pick in 2028, and in return Calgary recieves the following:
D Ben Macbeath (2008)
Second round pick in 2025 (43rd overall, formerly Spokane's pick)
Fourth round pick in 2025
First round pick in 2027
The North Vancouver, B.C native was originally selected by the Hitmen 12th overall in 2021, and made it to the NHL draft podium in 2024 where he was selected 82nd overall by the San Jose Sharks. Wetsch totaled 121 points in 184 career WHL games across four seasons, finishing his career in Calgary with 33 goals and 20 assists through 68 regular season games and five goals with one assist in 11 playoff contests.
Going the other way, Macbeath is just getting started. The 17-year-old spent this season with the BCHL's Salmon Arm Silverbacks, where he tallied 30 assists and added four goals in 53 games. Also a native of Calgary, Macbeath is committed to the University of Denver for the 2026-27 season.
